Wearing Purple Doesn't Have to Be Scary

A color I really enjoy wearing can be super intimidating for some, yes, I'm talking about purple. I talk a lot on my blog about classic glam makeup and how I err on the side naturals in my makeup. But that doesn't mean I don't wear color or I don't enjoy wearing colorful looks.

This is a prime example of how I like to wear color, by pairing it with neautral shades. The star of this eye look show is a shade called Gemstone by Anastasia Beverly Hills. If you're familiar with my makeup looks you will know that I absolutely love ABH shadows, especially the single shadows. The formulas are silky smooth and blend flawlessly into the skin while having minimal fallout.

Gemstone is a duo chrome shade, meaning the base and reflect are different shades. I would say gemstone is a lilac purple base with a champagne pink reflect. When this shade hits light it's so much more than purple and I love that about these types of shades. Pairing them with neutrals is the way to go if you don't want to commit to a full-on purple smoky eye.

Shades I used with Gemstone

Crease: Custard, Brick and Fawn (All ABH shades)

Highlight: Eclipse from Aurora Glow Kit

Liner: NYX Cosmetics Liquid Liner
